Re: Macro Help For Floating Z- Soft Limit

I found the machining envelope. Does that only work when running a file? It will blow past my setting with the arrow keys. Yes, it's called the "work envelope". It only allows "machining" within the envelope coordinates yet allows moves outside the envelope when not machining fo...

Re: Spindel warm up macro and Plc

I added some code to my homing macro so when it's finished homing at startup it then asks me if I want to run the spindle warm up procedure, a simple "yes" or "no" answer by the operator and it either does or doesn't run the spindle warm up macro. No PLC changes needed.

Re: Acorn Losing Steps

You would have to disconnect the motor from the ball screw and turn it by hand through its entire range of motion on the axis and see if there is any drag or binding. Do you have a keyway on the ballscrew and shaft coupling to mate with the motor? Did you use Loctite on the coupling?

Re: Computer options

If you buy one of the 1L PC's it'll fit very easily inside ANY control cabinet without having to chop it up into several pieces. I use HP Mini PC's and they measure about 6x6x1.75 inches which is much smaller than any PC that you would chop up to fit.

Re: ENA1

Thanks, Shawn,:) I will do the Google Drive thing. I did see all the resends. The weird thing is this happens a few times when I first power up the machine. Then after roughly the 3rd time. The machine runs and doesn't miss a beat. Just a note(ALL the ENA pins are pulled low and don't have that ugl...

Tom, these are Clearpath servos and that would entail swapping motors....which may not be the same size.

Re: ENA1

Ok Karl, lets take a look....... You have several MPU resend errors in your report. You need to address these first and find out why. Your report shows you are still using 5.04 which is no longer supported, I recommend you update your software to 5.08. Do you have a google photo album started that y...

Re: Wait for spindle

Add the dwell or delay in your M3 macro after the spindle turns on. This way it'll be sort of "automatic" every time you call the M3 to turn the spindle on. Just add your G4 P10 as the last line. That said, 10 seconds is an eternity for a spindle to spin up. Maybe adjust your acc...

Re: Claearpat sdsk can't get to enable

Once again, try wiring it per the Centroid diagram and let us know if it works or not. Please post a current report from the machine so we can see your settings. Without this report we are just guessing.

Re: Stepper motor driver not listed in config wizard

It explains this on Centroids website where they advertise the Acorn. As Tom stated, the headers are for servos (and a select few stepper drives that operate at a true 24 volts) and the DB25 is for stepper drives that operate at 5v like yours. Below is a link to the PDF image on Centroids website. h...
