Re: Acorn Geckodrive g320x
The VCP or Virtual Control Panel is the button panel on the right side of your computer screen. When you see the "drive fault" message in the message window just cycle the estop button for more than one second to reset the drives. Pressing reset will activate output 6 without a PLC edit? ...

Re: Acorn Geckodrive g320x
I'm running the same Gecko320x drive and AMT-102 encoder. The ERR/RST system is odd and requires some reading to understand. I'm going from memory I'm not in the shop today. You should be doing testing without using the ERR/RST system. Connect the ERR/RST pin to the ENC+ terminal. This keeps the dri...

Re: Polyform milling with Acorn lathe
It's starting to look like they are going to have to make a subforum just for suntravels lathe projects. Very nice work. Your threads have shown me ways to use a lathe I had never thought of before.

Keith, would you please ban Ewe. He is making us mere mortals feel very inadequate! :? Who is Ewe ? Uwe He is the sheep leading us wolves to slaughter! Sorry Uwe I didn't do it on purpose. Re: Basic hookup
Keep in mind it's not as complicated as it seems. You only need to figure out how one thing works at a time. You figure out how one axis works then duplicate it. Same with inputs and outputs. Once you figure out how they work they are easy to hook up. If you find yourself in some odd situation then ...

Very impressive. I can't imagine how complicated it is to program one of those things.

Re: Simultaneous 4 axis moves on a lathe
Very Interesting. It's good to see what can be done on a lathe. Is what you doing standard on industrial lathes or are you just thinking up things to try?

Re: Stepper vibrations with G540 and Stepperonline
I have a stepper based milling machine that I converted from Mach 3 to acorn. The first time the machine moved I was amazed at how much smoother it was. You didn't mention in your original post what your steps are per revolution. If set to coarse this could cause vibration, I can look on my mill and...
