Reasons for reverse spindle on a lathe.
I just got in a couple of non reversible drives for my lathe. I can use it as is and only have forward. I can add in a relay to reverse polarity but this has a few small issues. Biggest problem is that when reverse spindle goes off and it releases the relay it instantly reverses the polarity to the ...

Re: Homing & Limit Switch UNSOLVED MYSTERY! <solved>
I think that most people on here would be quite happy with a variance of .0012". Are you always approaching the sensor after you have taken out the backlash? Have you tested to see how much backlash you have? Even switches and sensors (unless you spent a ton of money on them) have some variatio...

Re: Buy the WMPG...!
I have both and do not want to miss each. Not all functions are on the WMPG... Uwe What functions are missing from the MPG that you wish were on it? How often do you use them? I do have a couple of extra inputs I was thinking I may someday use for a most used external button. I have not used the ma...

Re: Buy the WMPG...!
I have the pendant and am very happy with it. When I bought it I had to choose between the MPG and a touch screen monitor. I chose the MPG. So hear is the question. For those of you who have the MPG and the touch screen monitor. How useful is the touch screen monitor if you already have the MPG? Is ...

Re: question on spindle control
I don't see why this would not work. You could use an output for VFD forward fed through an inactive relay (OFF) and a second output for VFD reverse with the signal fed through a relay that reverses the polarity of the VFD signal when ON. Only one relay would be required to reverse the polarity of t...

Re: Probing gets interrupted sometimes
For some reason I can't see your video. First thing I would suspect though is electrical noise. Is your probe cable shielded and the shield grounded at one end?

Re: Using the KP-3 probe as the master tool
th-2953933642.jpg You can do that but you I don't understand what you mean about all your other tools being automatically offset. What you are describing will work if you have already set up all the offsets in the tool table. A master tool (at least how I use it) is used when setting up the tool ta...

I agree with your logic. I thought the same thing. It certainly is good to learn as much about how the PLC works for future use.

Re: Advice Please Re ATC
This is my generic advice for getting a tool changer to work. First figure out exactly how your ATC works. Then read the written description of how each type of turret works and find the one that is closest to how yours works. Then you can read the code to see what it does and what changes you need ...
