Re: Z-Axis with Brake problem

Could it be that the system tries to move the motos as soon as it activates and before the system is fully active? What about adding a G4 at the top of the gcode?

Re: Z-Axis with Brake problem

The key here is to have the servo enable and the brake work in-sync. What about finding a way to have the relay that handles the Drive_OK signal to also handle the servo brake? Maybe using that relay to drive other relays?

Re: CNC4PC C86ACCP for ClearPath SDSK servos

Richard, What you are describing is how it is supposed to work. Normally we recommend enabling the system using the axis enable signal as it is simpler and does not require additional wiring. The boards are shipped with both enable inputs jumped. The idea is that you move the jumper to use one of th...

I made a post in our website explaining the basic process for setting this up: https://www.cnc4pc.com/blog/post/configuration-c86accp Note that I intentionally left out of those instructions covering some features that can be considered as Advanced and do create confusion. These are: - Cable disconn...

Re: Clearpath HLFB connection to relay

I do not see a problem with your wiring. In the last image, you say it shows the system is active while there is a fault on the X-axis. But you are not showing the fault LED for the X-axis. Your point may be that the X-axis servo is indeed faulting, but the C86 is not seeing the fault. Can you confi...

Re: Clearpath HLFB connection to relay

Make sure the jumpers for the axes are set to SOFT Enable.

Re: Clearpath HLFB connection to relay

OK, so you have motion. I suggest you do a test by trying to make the servos fault and verifying that the C86 is seeing the servo fault. If the motors are not hooked up the machine, you can try running them faster than what they can do. After this, have the ACORN activate the C86. There are two ways...

Re: Clearpath HLFB connection to relay

Chuck,

Yes, initially, set the jumper on the C86 to disable the ACORN enable, that will jump the acorn enable and force the C86 to enable. If the C86 is still not enabling, then set the jumpers for each axis to not active so it will not detect the cable disconnect.

Re: Clearpath HLFB connection to relay

The C86 is not getting the signal to get enabled. The signal can be the No_Fault relay, the ACORN Enable or a combination of both. I tell people to start by putting the No_Fault jumper and disabling the ACORN enable to force the C86 to get enabled without waiting for an external enable. We can call ...
