Re: Anamet Anaconda MTC Conduit

Thanks, Liviu and Marty. I was looking for 3/4" Anaconda not the 1.25" console extension and I did find a place that will sell by the foot. West Side Electric Supply in South Elgin, Illinois has all the sizes sells cut lengths. For anyone who is building a CNC machine, Anamet Anaconda M.T....

Anamet Anaconda MTC Conduit <<Answered>>

I really like the flexibility of the Anamet MTC conduit Centroid uses on their kits but I have not been able to locate anyplace that sells it in less than 100' rolls. Has anyone else seen this anywhere you can buy it by the foot? Centroid - do you sell this to the DIY community?

Thanks,

Tom

Re: Computer Optimization

Keith, I have a Vectrax 10x50 mill to which I added a Route66 4-Axis kit, and a Babin Machine rebuilt and CNC'd Hardinge HLV in my lab at the university. I'm currently working on rebuilding and CNC'ing a Hardinge TFB for home. I'll be painting it in another couple of weeks and I post some pictures o...

Computer Optimization

If you are running only the Centroid software on your controller PC (as recommended) there are some further optimizations you can do to the PC beyond the Windows 10/Centroid Configuration video . The Windows operating system runs a lot of additional programs called Services in the background. These ...

Re: My Bridgeport Series 1 CNC Conversion Using Centroid Acorn

Look into Fenner Trantorque couplings instead of keyways and setscrews to lock your pulleys onto the shafts. Setscrews loosen and keyways develop slop leading to backlash. Trantorque couplings will not slip and will stay backlash free. Your local bearing supply house should carry them and you can ge...

OAK Analog Ground

Pages 9 and 11 of the Oak manual shows Analog I/O being referenced to Analog Ground, however the Axis Headers do not have a Analog Ground pin. So, where to I reference the Axis Header signals Analog In and Analog Request? Do I use +24V Return or +5V Return? In appendix C, the Yaskawa Sigma V cable s...

Re: OAK and Handwheels

I just wanted to confirm and document that using the Oak AXIS3/4 as encoder inputs pulling 5V power from the PLCADD connectors works without issue. The PLCADD connector housings are JST #PADP-12V-1-S and the crimp terminals are JST #SPH-001T-P0.5L, and the AXIS connector housings are JST #PUDP-30V-S...

Re: Is positioning mode or torque mode better?

CNCSNW, I don't know why I didn't notice that. I had originally intended to hook it up in velocity mode and noticed the microflex drive had multiple modes and I remember seeing the Oak board had multiple modes, just didn't bother to check if the multiple modes matched. Sorry for wasting your time. I...

Is positioning mode or torque mode better?

I have two ABB Microflex drives and motors that I will be connecting to an Oak controller on a small Hardinge lathe. The Microflex can run in positioning (step/dir) , torque/current (0-10V), or velocity (0-10V) modes. Which mode will give me the better results? Will it make a difference if in the fu...
