Re: Encoder Error
I finally sent my board into Centroid for a closer look. Axis 1 works fine. Axis 2-4 error out. If we discover anything helpful I'll post it for you! We have not been able to reproduce the problem yet, but will keep trying. 2 axes ran over the weekend with your Oak and cnct directory. I sent email ...

Re: I need please help to control my analogue output.
I'll try the capacitor. Analog outputs like the one on ACORN are not designed to drive large capacitive loads. The output may turn into an oscillator and heat up the output opamp. A resistor and capacitor will probably be needed to create a low pass filter. https://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/filt...

Re: AXIS6 ENCODER DIFF ERROR ON BENCH TEST
Did you plug an encoder into axis 6 encoder connector?

Re: Any relay experts here? Interface Probe 4-20ma output signal..
I think so. 4-20mA usually refers to analog interfaces. That is not something I would expect from a probe. With a quick skim of the documents, I don't see where you are getting that from. A solid state relay (SSR) could pull down an ACORN input, that is what needs to happen.

Re: Wired MPG
Those inputs are too high for force and invert. Only the first 80 have that functionality. Pull the switch inputs to pin 2 (GND) to activate.

Re: Yaskawa encoder on other brand servo
While I most likely not end up using these servos, I know a few people who want to retrofit their old Cincinnati Arrow CNCs while using their old motors so if my motor can be used to help out others, that would be awesome. While I hate to discourage philanthropy, this is not the path I would take. ...

Re: Yaskawa encoder on other brand servo
Is it there a generic servo drive that would be advisable to use with an older motor? I know Centroid has the ACDC drives that will work with Fanuc motors, would those work if I added the correct encoder to my older motors? Most manufacturers tend to steer clear of using someone else's motors. Cont...

Re: Yaskawa encoder on other brand servo
I believe the motor type will be read from encoder memory. So yes, you will trick the Yaskawa drive into thinking a Yaskawa motor is attached. However, chances are that the old motor is nothing like the new motor (different winding inductance, winding resistance, current rating, etc.). So the drive ...

Re: How many encoder PPR are too much?
The SureServo motors/amps I just bought, advertise an encoder resolution of over 16 million PPR (24 bit), (if I interpreted their specs correctly). I can't imagine how this is possible. Imagine how small the lines on the encoder disc would have to be. Maybe they use nanometer photo lithography as i...
