Re: Techno Isel Lathe Refit Using Centroid Acorn and Teknic Clearpath Drives
I'm just reading this post now. Let me make some clarifications on proper VFD cabling. There are 3 sources of what I refer to as stray currents caused by VFDs. Stray currents cause bearing failure in motors and equipment, and can cause nearby electronic equipment to misbehave or even fail. Been ther...

Re: CNC11 to CNC12 issues
So this is where I am at. I ended up starting from scratch. Reloaded a fresh copy of CNC12 v4.14. I followed TB311 instructions and only copied cncm.prm.xml and cncmcfg.xml files. I got a warning that the tool library, offset library and WCS files were set to default so I successfully copied those f...

Re: CNC11 to CNC12 issues
Thanks Marty! I do not have an ATC. Its an Atrump bed mill. I have attached my report that I saved before the conversion. I don't have a report from the new setup yet. I thought I followed TB311 (version 4) to the letter. It says to only copy 2 files from the report (see attached instructions). That...

CNC11 to CNC12 issues
So I have the ELO monitor and NUC installed. Monitor was a pain to install. I made the cream colored adapter. Upgraded from CNC11 to CNC12 v14. Per the instructions I found, I only restored the cncm.prm.xml and cncmcfg.xml files. That is how I interpreted the instructions. You can see that I don't h...

More CNC11 to CNC12 Upgrade Questions
So I have the NUC loaded with the CNC12 software but no PLC program. Can I just copy my old old PLC program into CNCM folder and then compile it? Can I utilize one of the newer PLC files in CNC12 and then just customize it with my changes? When I modified my PLC file, I am now not sure I modified an...

Re: Renishaw MP11 Probe Setup
Hi BodeRacing, That's the same setup I'm trying to install. But it looks like you've only used 8 pins and the Renishaw OMI-2T has 13. Any chance you could share the wires and pinouts you used and any install notes I need to be aware of? It would be very much appreciated ;) Many thanks, Stephen My c...

Re: Yet another way to get 452 communication errors
Those insulated connectors have no place in critical applications. Bare high quality connectors are far more reliable. I have dealt with my fair share of bad crimps in my career in the industrial electrical field. I had at least one on my machine that I found. I disallow the plastic insulated ones i...

Re: CNC11 to CNC12 Upgrade Questions
Thanks! For version 4.16, I would need the ultimate version. 2500 digitizing points won't cut it for me. Only Ultimate has unlimited digitizing. So do I understand correctly that if I upgrade to version 4.14 it would be free and I don't lose any benefits? If so, what does version 4.16 offer over ver...

CNC11 to CNC12 Upgrade Questions
Almost ready to upgrade CNC11 to CNC12 and I'm a bit confused. I didn't think that there was a cost to upgrade from CNC11 to CNC12. But I now see that there is a cost if upgrading to version 4.16. Is there the same cost to upgrade to version 4.14? I had not heard of pro and ultimate versions. I thou...
