Re: Acorn for DIY CNC cam grinder on CNC lathe
Found my WOPS manual. Here is a few good pictures showing how the lift portion of the cam is above/below the center line of the wheel and the second shows how wheel diameter changes as dressed changes the geometry of the cam unless there is a program (such as WOPS) that makes compensations for it. h...

Re: Wiring Confirmation
The main page shows all of the contacts for several different sizes(and this is common across manufactures lines) However if you go to the side mounted auxliary contact page it does say for 17, 25 and 32 sized contactors only. The top/front mount contactors however are for all sizes. So contactor DI...

Re: Wiring Confirmation
As marty stated that your sizes are correct. You would just need to ensure which ever one you purchased had at least one normally open contact and you would not want the early open variant. You would put those two terminals on the auxilary Normally open to the No fault for the C86ACCP You don't need...

Re: Wiring Confirmation
Most contactors can add an aux set of contacts to the side or front depending on the design. What brand/model of contactor do you have? Front mount 4 contacts https://uk.farnell.com/productimages/large/en_GB/3470226-40.jpg Front mount and side mount single contacts https://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/230...

Re: Acorn Power Supply Question
Thankyou for that info. So is there any other reason that one shouldn't use a single power supply to power both the ether1616 and acorn (and only those two boards) together?centroidsupport wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 5:01 pm Both both 8 relay board and Ether1616 have flyback doides on all the relays to reduce noise

Re: Acorn Power Supply Question
As stated above, you should use a separate power supply for items that can induce noise, such as contactors, relays, and solenoid valves. But will the ether1616 generate noise for the acorn MPU? It does have relays, but so does the 8 relay board that comes with the acorn. I very specifically stated...

Re: Acorn Power Supply Question
Can you use a 70w plus power supply, say a Meanwell NDR-75-24, to power both the acorn and the ether1616 together?. Another PS to power all other 24 volt coils. It would save space in the cabinet. Thank you

Re: How do you wire/ program a ATC auto tool changer with acorn?
Here's a link to the Acorn documentation on the various types of ATC used with Acorn: https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_diy/downloads/acorn_cnc_software/acorn_v4.60_ATC_Programs.zip Thanks for the link So from this documentation it looks like the acorn is only sending relay outputs to an atc uni...

Re: Acorn for DIY CNC cam grinder on CNC lathe
Setting up the spindle as C-axis with the grinder on X should work. If the center of the grinding spindle is on the same height with the C-axis change in diameter of the grinding wheel will not change the cam profiles, only the size which could be easy dialed in after dressing the wheel. Uwe A cam ...
