Re: acorn board fusion 360 and smooth circle

How to set up the axis is described here:

Encodercounts in Acorn must match to the setup of drives.

Re: JMC 1.5kw Servo as spindle motor

by the way, the reason why I was sure it works with the JMC was that we are tapping M12x1.75 in series on a Traub TNL16g bored up to 22mm. 1kw Mitsubishi Servo for the driven tools, 4.6Nm rated at the tool holder drive shaft which is 2:1 reduced in the toolholder https://up.picr.de/42692595pg.jpg ht...

Re: Cheap closed-loop drivers. Am I asking for trouble?

ok. on a late you must build some enclosure for the board on the stepper.

I would connect them to the DB25 with a breakoutboard like any other stepper.

For the powersupply, I would ask the seller what is recommended.

Without drive ok signal, would not let them run unattended

Hi, they are expensive, not cheap.

For 108$ you can have bigger and faster ones from Stepperonline, sealed, with wiring and powersupply.

Re: g code / intercon

For simple 2d paths I use Intercon, you can also import DXF and generate the g-codes with Intercon. Text and Logos engraving Inkscape for drawing and its G-Code tool. Complicated 3d parts fusion 360 Best is to learn to make g-codes only with Notepad++, helps a lot to dial in postprocessors or for op...

Re: JMC 1.5kw Servo as spindle motor

I think you will be doing well to manage M16 tapping in steel - Kennametal reckon 23Nm would be required. https://www.kennametal.com/us/en/resources/engineering-calculators/holemaking-calculators/tapping-torque-and-horsepower.html With 5.73Nm and 1:1.63 you may be talking 3.5Nm. Besides, I can't im...

Re: DIG file not compatible with anything!?

tech bulletin 270, this is lost Ethernet connection.

Probing stops if you have lots of request for resend in your logs.

Could both be a problem with noise or the setup on your PC.
