Re: Siemens Spindle Servo (15Kw) ALLINONEDC Hurco BMC-30
Have you verified the analog voltage at the analog input to the Siemens drive? If you are getting a suitable analog signal there, then the Centroid software/parameters is doing what it is supposed to do. I do not immediately know what could be miswired or misconfigured with a Siemens 611 drive, to a...

Re: Hardinge CHNC4 Retrofit
Every machine is different. Not every machine is capable of orientation. M19 is just an external M function (a CNC macro that you, as the control integrator, provide). It does not get any special handling by CNC12. As such, there are no parameters (such as a "P" value) that can be passed i...

Re: sinking INP #7 from a different power source?
If you want to be able to swap the motor power leads back, then you could indeed swap the encoder polarity at the same time. It does not really matter which motor direction is positive and which is negative. All that matters is that the encoder feedback match the outgoing power: positive output curr...

Re: NEW Atrump Retrofit Project.
Before selecting reversing contactors and an overload relay, you need to know the rated current of the ATC carousel motor. Take enough covers off that you can read the data plate. On other B5AC machines, these have been rated between 0.31A and 0.40A on 230VAC. I would use Fuji SC-E02 contactors and ...

Re: NEW Atrump Retrofit Project.
No, transformers output only AC. Rectifiers convert AC into DC. The label on the old schematic is misleading (read: wrong). The taps that wires #90 and #91 connect to have about 180VAC between them; or about 90VAC from each one to the center tap (CT). On the old schematic, D1 and D2 are stud diodes....

Re: sinking INP #7 from a different power source?
Regarding "sourcing" and "sinking", it is important to be clear which side of the circuit you are talking about. Sourcing devices connect to sinking PLC inputs. Sinking devices connect to sourcing PLC inputs. Similarly, if you are using solid-state PLC outputs, then sourcing outp...

Re: C Axis Lathe Situation
If the C axis rotates from a position of C-23.0 degrees to a position of C-60.0 degrees, then it is moving in the negative C direction. Let's say that is CCW from your viewpoint. Then when the C axis rotates from a position of C-60.0 degrees to a position of C-23.0 degrees, then it is moving in the ...

Re: AcornSix - Zri Homing with linear scales
If the asterisk is always visible while you move the axis up and down the scale, then yes: you should try swapping the polarity of the index channel wires.

Re: Can't use X10 or X100 on MPG if probe is setup on inputs
But, since he has defined INP6 to be a normally-open probe-detect input, and has set P18 = 50006, the software should recognize that the probe is not available to be tripped when INP6 is open, and in that case ignore the state of INP7.

Re: sinking INP #7 from a different power source?
If you have +24VDC wired to your input bank common, I would call those "sourcing" inputs. The input sources current; the sensor wired to the input sinks current. If you have 0VDC wired to your input bank common, I would call those "sinking inputs. The switch or sensor sources current;...
