Re: DC spindle drive reversing (sprint 340XRI)
Cheers for uploading the manuals, I'm using my phone and seemed to have attached but obviously didn't. Yes the DC drive have a -10v to use for reversing, but there is more than one way to implement it, so if someone had already figured something... We could use a relay but if its possible utilising ...

DC spindle drive reversing (sprint 340XRI)
I'm pretty sure there isn't a simple way to do it but thought I'd ask if anyone could have a quick double check for me as I've got a couple of sprint 340xri dc drives and if I can utilise the reversing function that would be great? I know the "easy" option is just put a modern VFD and AC m...

Re: threading issues
Encoder count should be on the diagnostic page (Alt i) You could also try moving from and to a safe position a z move G1 with a feed of F1 g99 ( 1" feed per rev) and then manual turn the chuck and make sure your move is actually moving 1" per rev, your encoder count could be wrong. If I re...

Re: threading issues
Have you checked the spindle count resets to zero in the exact same place when you rotate the chuck?

Re: C-Axis Homing to Spindle Encoder Pulse
Why not have some sort of positive engagement drive dog the will only engage in one place rather than a clutch?

Re: Acorn system "open loop" operating question?
Basically I was trying to say, work out why you're getting stalls firstly before trying to overcome them with added complexity rather than removing the cause.

Re: Acorn system "open loop" operating question?
You don't actually need closed loop feedback if the setup is correct, motors correctly sized, mechanical setup of sideways etc correct and tool loads not excessive. You can get closed loop stepper motors with encoders and drives to match the drive outputs a fault signal if the motor hasn't moved to ...

Re: keyboard jog
But having jog enabled on the PC keyboard means you will get unexpected moves when navigating the in software, tools library etc.
It's actually potentially dangerous to have it moves enabled by default, I for sure wouldn't want it.

Re: Has anyone attempted to install Tower Signal Lights
Yeah the standard light output is really simple.
I was actually looking at changing what the lights were indicating to show the machine was waiting for the the tool to be changed
while a job is running but I've not got round to writing the PLC program changes for it.

Re: Internal Boring Bar offsets
I use the side of my threading tools so I know I can program down to a shoulder or in to the bottom of a hole and the tool will go right to that face without having to work out or worry about changing the type of tool I'm using. Auto measure don't set a internal threading tool as it seems to have a ...
