Re: Vibrateing & looseing steps

Thanks for the feed back Marty Just one more piece of information, I know it not very scientific ......but it did this to my 1 inch 1/4 shank 90deg v bit when I thought it could cut 1/2 deep at 70 ipm and stalled my router and dead stopped the machine before I could hit the stop button  And ju...

Re: Vibrateing & looseing steps

Marty I am driving the router with ball screws, direct drive NEMA 23 570 steppers no reductions. Gecko 203Vs with a 60v 1500 watt Anteck PSU, Igues shielded cables. The DMM DYN2 Keith suggested, from what I read would have more than enough ponies to do the job. I would go with the 86M-DHT 0.75kW AC ...

Re: Vibrateing & looseing steps

Well if a picture worth a thousand words......A video must be worth a million  Thanks Dan for taking the time to run the file. The part when it starts doing the Z up to sharpen the edges is when I ran into trouble. Especially on tinny moves close together. That's why I thought it might be the c...

Re: Vibrateing & looseing steps

Thank guys Russ I changed the parameter (968 from 0. To 12.) Restarted Centroid but no change. Ken I tried changing the feeds as you suggested (set all to 50 ipm) but it was a no go, same issue. I was able to rapid to 300ip before loosing steps X and Y so I have it set to 150 X&Y 300 even 200 wa...

Vibrateing & looseing steps

Hi all I’ve been up and running a couple of weeks now trying out different file types With relatively good success, but.... I have run into on occasion when doing 3D files or V carve files when the machine just vibrates to the point of loosening steps and ruining the piece. I have a router mill 32x4...

Re: First 3D Carvings

Thanks
I used a 1/4 in ball nose for the roughing 3 flute carbide
The finishing pass was a 2 flute .115 dia, ball nose carbide
Both bits are rejects, didn't pass inspection.
Girl friend works in inspection dept. they just scrap them so they let her take some home for me :)

First 3D Carvings

Hi all I just got my Acorn powered DIY router up and cutting. I have to say that Acorn is more intuitive for me than Mach was. :D The wizard is well thought out for the end user. (like me lol) And the online support is top notch comparatively. Well worth the extra investment I think . But the proof ...

Trajectory planning

Hi all
I have a quick question about the Beagle Bone Green.
Dose the BBG do any of the trajectory planning, or is that done by the PC

Just wondering how much the pc controls and how much the BBG controls.
Seems like BBG may do more than my old Mach ESS did (Warp 9)
Thanks
Todd
