I look up the threads database in the cnct directory, for some reason I cant open it in Excel ? not sure why but I open it in WordPa...

Re: New Rebuild on Sherline Chucker Lathe & New build on 5400 mill
It is possible you maybe missing steps between your Acorn and the drives. Can be EMI noise, poor wiring practices. Set up an indicator zero it out and create a program to go a distance and return to zero. Loop it See if it's repeatable. To clarify The machine is not missing steps when programmed co...

Re: Material stop for lathe
You could save that as a subprogram and call it using M98. That way you only have to enter a single line using the Intercon G&M code insert. Another way would be to make a macro using an unused M code and call it. That would be even shorter than typing M98 "programname.cnc" OH that is...

Re: Chamfered edges for turning
After my 2nd session in Intercon doing the 2nd turotral ( threaded part) making a profile I dont think I will be learning anymore Intercon. I like it for really simple stuff, pretty cool cuz its fast but for drawing it's archaic for drawing profiles, it's like cavemen drawing on rock walls. Im a CAD...

Re: New Rebuild on Sherline Chucker Lathe & New build on 5400 mill
Insert manufacturers have tables for feed per rev and surface speed for various materials. There are also on-line resources such as FSWizard https://app.fswizard.com/, as well as mobile apps and PC apps for calculating speeds and feeds. Your machine is moving backwards because you are loosing steps...
