Re: Screen Language

Hello, thanks! That sound perfekt :) I just ordered a Acorn Controller to retrofit my Emco PC Turn 55 now :) Hi Andy, I am also from germany and new to Centroid. Despite being not very good in english, i would suggest to leave it in english, since the dokus are english and the support in this forum...

Re: Day 11 and it runs....

Today i put everything in the cabinet, installed NPN proximity switches for all axes, and tested homing and did a testrun.... After 10 times running the program the machine hits the endposition with under 0,005mm, no backlash dialed in the software. Quite happy with this :) https://youtu.be/w5NI0K2u...

Re: Day 11 and it runs....

Next update... put everything on the board for the cabinet, and surprise, works as it is supposed to. Changed the remaining driver to ALM NC to wire them in series. Also tested a swiss made Tool Height Measurement Device with an NPN proximity sensor. After 20 runs got a precision under 0,005 mm, goo...

Re: Homing Switches & Routine

Thanks, had made the same thoughts later, one axis opens the loop, moves back than closes it again.

Must submit the machines in my job are moving all axes the same time for homing, so each needs an extra input.

Kind regards

Re: Homing Switches & Routine

Well the loop will be closed after all switches are closed, so when the first switch is closed, how does the Acorn know the first axis is home and stops it moving ? On the systems I know each home and/or limit switch has its own input for each axis. You can send them home with one command, and each ...

Re: Homing Switches & Routine

Kind of stupid question maybe, but how do it work that the first axis stops reaching home when the sensors are wired in series ?

Day 11 and it runs....

Well after working with CNC for 30 years in my job, I started my first DIY CNC for hobby :) 11 days ago I got my Acorn kit and started to convert a Paulimot F207 (kind of PM25) into a CNC mill. Used 4Nm Stepperonline closed loop steppers, a ThinkPad All-in-one PC and an old XP Laptop for programming...

Re: Anyone know of a good site to find feeds and speeds for unknown tooling?

I'm not sure if you are agreeing or disagreeing - I could read it either way in places. At least we seem to agree that chip evacuation is key at least. .... This is flat out wrong as flood coolant is used in nearly every shop on aluminum, because it works the best. .... IMHO high pressure cooling w...

Tallerarte wrote: Thu Sep 23, 2021 2:09 pm Hi, i need help, i am new with acorn cnc and i want to know what software i can use to convert diferent files to .g files
Do you mean files from BRL-Cad ?

If yes, you have to save them in .dxf format to import them to Centroid.

Kind regards
