A further development, I changed P93=1 and I can control the axis both by jogging and with code. I was able to roughly calibrate the stepper to the spindle encoder via a manual axis DRO. I still have no functionality of the C if I declare the axis as C in the parameters. I am happy to live with this...

Yes, I updated about a month ago to the latest software.

When P93=1 I can call C axis moves through MDI and intercon (manually entered G code, no C axis options available) and everything works as it should.

P93=16 or 17, I have C axis options available in intercon bit no control of axis at all

Thats cool! Silly question time..... why do you have a seperate index on the spindle, couldnt you use the index pulse that is already on the encoder? Is it just so you can index C zero to one of the chuck jaws?
