Cabinet Construction

Currently using a steel cabinet (IT Patch Cab) with components laid out horizontally - Mains power transformers on top shelf and low voltage components below with all control wiring fully shielded. Zero interference problems Now need to add a 4th axis requiring a larger cabinet and have a new Polyes...

Re: Is it possible to pause a job and then resume on the Acorn?

There are 3 buttons to achieve this.

Both Feed hold and Toolcheck will immediately pause the Job, the latter returning your Z axis to the tool change position (usually home). Restart Job using Cycle Start.

You can also resume after Power off / hitting Cancel - See Mill manual sections 6.3 and 6.4

Re: Sticky Jog Buttons

FWIW, I'm using a Dell 24 Touch Monitor (P2418HT) on my Wabeco mill and just tried rolling my finger while raising the Z axis (Z+ direction) . I had to seriously exaggerate the gesture several times but eventually experienced continuous movement - Movement stopped immediately after a quick subsequen...

Re: Problems with Centroid Acorn

What the guys above are advising is to review again the thread Liviu has linked. Go to Post 3 on that thread and view Marty's video - He details the network setup procedure at about 11 1/2 minutes.

Hope this helps

Can G Code be imported into INTERCON

Assuming that a raw G-Code file correctly graphs in Intercon, can this be saved as an ICN file where it can be modified / extended / further developed using Intercon? As an example, create a test Intercon program and post which created both CNC and ICN files. Remove / hide the ICN file and load the ...

Re: Using DP-4 and TT1 to set tool offsets on a knee mill

Hi Marty Not sure if this is the 'correct' way for the conductive TT1 on a knee mill but I use my DP4 with the mechanical TT2 (on a turrent mill) as follows: With the DP4 mounted and connected and the TT2 in its reference position but NOT connected, effectively I touch off the DP4 and set both the r...

Re: DP-4 and TT-1 with acorn.

Thanks Keith. I finally went with the TT-2 which I found on the Oak page.

Safely arrived today (UK East coast) less than 48 hours after ordering - Your courier must be trialling one of Elon Musk 's Falcon toys!!!

Serious hats-off and thanks again

Re: DP-4 and TT-1 with acorn.

Hi Keith I am in a similar position with the DP4 installed and working properly using the supplied internal bulkhead cable but now need to order the TT1 as well. I see from the schematics that both use Acorn inputs 6 and 7 except that: - DP4 uses green wire from Probe connector 6 to Input 6 Detect -...

Re: Help needed with Axis Calibration

When using metric, remember you are setting unit per rev (mm/rev) compared to the reverse for Imperial - revs per unit (revs / inch). Therefore when working in metric, if distance commanded is greater than actual travel you need to reduce mm/rev setting not increase it. Marty's excellent downloadabl...
