Re: Please critique my tool setter and touch plate schematic
Marty, I completely missed that the inputs were all standing at +24V. Thank you for pointing that out. I bought a cheap tool setter off eBay. The instructions are in Chinese so they are pretty useless. The instructions even mention an LED that doesn't exist on the unit I received. I used my meter to...

Please critique my tool setter and touch plate schematic (Resolved)
Hello, I'm getting ready to convert my mill from Mach3 to Acorn. I'm trying to finalize the wiring for my tool setter and touch plate. I want to use one input for both. The tool setter is NC and obviously the touch plate is NO. I looked through my electronics box and found a IRL510 NFET. Here's the ...

Re: A few questions about converting from Mach3 to Centroid
I decided to bite the bullet and buy the 5 micron switches from Automation Direct. They weren't cheap but they should solve having to relocate the vise every time I re-home the machine. ;^)
I also ordered an Acorn, CNC12 Mill Pro and the WMPG this morning.

Re: A few questions about converting from Mach3 to Centroid
Thanks Marty. That's basically what I had in mind. Do you have any suggestions for homing switches. I'm using crappy mechanical switches at the moment. They leave a lot to be desired for accuracy. I'd like the machine to be repeatable within .001" of that location. I'm SOOOO tired of having to ...

Re: A few questions about converting from Mach3 to Centroid
Dave,
Thank you for pointing that out. I'm sure I would have overlooked it. I'm running KL5056 drivers from Automation Direct and they do have 5V inputs.

Re: A few questions about converting from Mach3 to Centroid
Thanks for the replay Gary. Let me restate my question. What I'd like to do is can close the Gcode in CNC12, edit the CAM files in Fusion360, post process, and then reload the Gcode in CNC12. I wouldn't be working in Fusion while CNC 12 is running gcode. Right now when I see an issue I can hand edit...

A few questions about converting from Mach3 to Centroid
Hello, I have a Grizzly G0704 benchtop mill that I converted to CNC about 8 years ago. The machine currently has an Ethernet Smooth Stepper and CNC4PC BOB installed. The software has issues occasionally. The PC is old and running Win7. It's time for an upgrade. I have a few questions: I have over a ...
