Re: C Axis Lathe Situation

Leave the negative numbers and the C-axis out for a moment and restate what Marc said. If my X0 is in the center of the part, X-2.0 to X2.0 would be a 4" move to the right, while X2.0 to X-2.0 would be a 4" move to the left. I think this is what you are expecting: G00 X-2.000 G01 X2.000 G0...

Re: C Axis Lathe Situation

C-23 to C-60 would move CCW.
C-60 to C-23 would be CW.

Same thing happens on Z.

208V 3Ø to 120V 1Ø transformers are readily available. All you need is the Centroid "capboard".

Re: Can't add negative number to Low Range Spindle Speed RatioRatio

1) Thread milling doesn't use the encoder, so that is why there are no problems with that. 2) Tapping on the mill will work fine in high and back gear. Peck tapping will not work in either. 3) Even if you get the "back gear" worked out in the lathe software, lathe threading in back gear wi...

Re: Can't add negative number to Low Range Spindle Speed RatioRatio

Because that's exactly what it's designed to do. CNC12 changes the DAC output based on the gear ratio. The spindle encoder reads the SPINDLE speed and therefore should never need any gear ratio applied to it. It also does not, and SHOULD not, need to be "reversed" by a negative gear ratio....

Re: Can't add negative number to Low Range Spindle Speed RatioRatio

Spindle speed encoder output is supposed to be the actual spindle speed and does not get changed by the back gear ratio. As Keith pointed out earlier, if you have a Bridgeport style milling head and you attached the encoder to the top of the spindle, then you are not reading the actual spindle speed...

Re: Pro license binding and demo version

All Centroid licenses are bound to the Centroid controller, not the PC. You can change PCs, and PC components, as often as you want.

Re: Can't add negative number to Low Range Spindle Speed RatioRatio

@PhilipTrueman, you should start your own thread instead of hijacking someone else's. From the manual: 13.21 M41, M42, M43 - Select Spindle Gear Range (Macros) M41, M42, and M43 have no default actions, and therefore custom macros must be defined for these M codes in order to make this feature work....

Re: CNC lathe Dealing with long chips

Increase the feedrate or the depth of cut to make chips break.
