Re: Okay! Making Things Work!

The only thing I think I can make out from that video is that you have X and Y setup backwards or you are confused about Cartesian coordinate system. X is left to right movement and Y is front to back.

Re: Acorn won't run g code/mdi

Have a look at your error log, it is littered with communication errors, this is why it wont run a file. You MUST fix this issue first before you can proceed. Read this document below, until you fix this issue nothing will work correctly. Did you run the com stress test? There's no way it would pass...

Re: Serious Issues with existing build

I agree with Scott, sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Go through EVERY screw terminal on EVERY board and check each connection and re-tighten it.

Since these are Clearpath you obviously cant swap the driver. :D

Re: Board standoffs ?and my drivers arent listed?

I also see that you asked this same question in the plasma forum, there’s no need to ask the same question twice in different topics, it only creates confusion to those trying to follow your build and for those that reply.

Re: Board standoffs ?and my drivers arent listed?

Be sure and follow the spacing requirements for the RX and TX boards in the manual. And as requested already by Joey start a Google album and take pics of your layout and wiring so we can see everything you see and help you. Post a link to that album here.

Re: Board standoffs ?and my drivers arent listed?

You can run those drives on Acorn. You can try to wire them up the same as the Y series drive but if it were me I would wire them to the DB25 using a breakout board for more reliable operation. I’d wire them like the CL86T diagram. Just start with ONE drive and ONLY wire up the PUL and DIR terminals...

Re: Still no motor movement.

What wiring diagram did you follow? Is the switch on the drive set to 5V? Is the enable line hooked up of not? Do the drives lock when powered up?

Please post pics of the wiring and a current report. We need a lot more info to be able to help you.

Re: X and Y axis exceeded

Your travel limits are not "typical" for a router either which is homing to the front, left corner. And as noted already you can easily exceed travel limits if they are not set correctly or you set your work 0,0 incorrectly.
