Dry Run on Acorn Mill (Resolved)

While trying to experiment with the Dry Run on the Acorn Mill, I noted that the parameters 128 and 129 are not accessible. On exploring further, came across the document - https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_diy/downloads/acorn_documentation/Acorn_CNC12_v4.5_release_notes.pdf . As per this document...

Changing Orientation of the Cutting Path Graph

The way my Touch Screen is mounted on the moving gantry type machine, the X-Y orientation of the graph needs to change by 90 degrees for avoiding confusion and relating the path shown with factual movement. This 'possibly' is required also for the graphics one sees Plate Sensing feature for Coordina...

Number of Timers, One Shot, Words

Hello I am looking for exact limitations on number of timers, constants, One Shots and other such 'defined' resources in the Acorn PLC. From the PLC Manual Appendix it seems that there can be 64 Timer definitions. This information must be there some where and I must have over looked it during the re...

Re: Cancel Cycle - Double Confirmation

What would you have the control do with the running job after the first press of Cycle Cancel, while waiting for the operator to decide whether they really meant it or not? The control would wait - possibly with a feed hold applied - while operator thinks & concludes whether he is making a mist...

Re: Customizing M30

There is no tape to rewind, and no place to go after a program ends but back to the start. Yes.... just wanted to know whether that very functionality is compromised. That is answered already in the thread. Consider resolved. And regarding 'rewind', looong back for a few years I have handled tapes....

Re: Using the STEP output of Unused Fourth Axis

Tks for your response. It would be controlled more like a Motor. I say this because discrete position control is not the intention - but IS a consequence. The motor would run at the given step rate till a switch closes, etc. The switch in my application is a potential free relay contact coming out f...

Customizing M30 (Resolved)

I intend to create a Macro for M30 so that some actions on the PLC side can be rigged at the end of the program. I am aware of how to rig up a Macro and related PLC Handshake and PLC Programming. Just concerned whether in this customizing I could loose the basic function of M30 - viz - Reset and Rew...

Re: Using the STEP output of Unused Fourth Axis

Appreciate your curiosity..... I have a stepper motor to be controlled but not as an axis and certainly not as a CNC axis. This motor drive needs to be controlled through PLC for direction and enabling which is not a big issue. Need also to facilitate a pulse train which should be programmable in fr...
