if just running gcode, the only thing in CNC12 you need to set is the tool length. Just got a new encoder installed 1:1 with the spindle. Changed the ppr in wizard to match encoder. CNC12 says spindle is turning 4 times faster than it actually is. try hitting cycle pause before hitting tool check. Also, it wont stop if in the middle of a canned cycle, like a tapping op.

And if the mechanics are solid and precise you don't really need scales for <0,01mm tolerance. if you have 0.0005" of backlash and want to make a part with tighter tolerance than that, then scales would be awesome. Same reason you use scales on a manual bridgeport or if you are converting an o...
