Re: New Build King Rich KRV-3000 Knee Mill with GSK AC Servos DA98B driver

Thanks Tom, I must seem like a milling novice. I guess that's because I am. I've had my mill over 10 years, but have been using it manually, with servo motors for movement. It is only now that I have started to do the thing that I bought it for, all those years ago.

Thanks Keith. Is there something like intercon for the mill?

Re: New Build King Rich KRV-3000 Knee Mill with GSK AC Servos DA98B driver

A bit more work on the Mill over the last couple of days. I now have the coolant working (flood coolant), the oiler working and the worklight via the light button on the Acorn control panel. I was going to make an alminium panel for the outside of the control box on the mill, to mount all of the DB9...

Re: New Build King Rich KRV-3000 Knee Mill with GSK AC Servos DA98B driver

A little more work on the Mill today, here is the current To Do status: 1/ Get knee working -Done. 2/ Make x,y,z,a cables -Done. 3/ Make new plate to mount knee motor -Done. 4/ Get new belt for servo motor on knee -Done. 4/(a) Adjust thickness of knee motor mounting spacers to make belt run in middl...

Re: Homing question

I swapped the inputs around for the X axis and it now homes the X axis to the RHS of the mill. Why it changed is still unknown, but it seems to be fixed. Here is a photo of the mill in its home position. The machine coordinates for this position are: X: 0 Y: 0 Z: 0 Mill in home position.jpg Feel fre...

Re: Homing question

By using the Acorn wizard to reverse the Z axis motor direction, I was able to get the positive home switch to be the lower limit switch on the knee's travel. My input definitions and Homing type now look like this - homing-inputs-01-11-23.png homing and travel-01-11-23.png The Z axis now homes to t...

Re: Homing question

Today I am attemping to setup up my milling machine homing, based on cncsw's comment above: "If your Z axis moves the knee of a knee mill, then the Z-plus direction (e.g. M92) should be knee-down.". Here is my current Acorn inputs screen: homing-inputs.png ....and here is my Homing and tra...

Re: New Build King Rich KRV-3000 Knee Mill with GSK AC Servos DA98B driver

The To Do list keeps growing, but I think I'm on the cusp, or "cusping" as my wife is wont to say: 1/ Get knee working -Done. 2/ Make x,y,z,a cables -Done. 3/ Make new plate to mount knee motor -Done. 4/ Get new belt for servo motor on knee -Done. 4/(a) Adjust thickness of knee motor mount...

Re: New Build King Rich KRV-3000 Knee Mill with GSK AC Servos DA98B driver

Apparently I need to change my + homing direction on the knee, as per Cncsw's post on my homing thread. "If your Z axis moves the knee of a knee mill, then the Z-plus direction (e.g. M92) should be knee-down." An updated to do list: 1/ Get knee working -Done. 2/ Make x,y,z cables -Done. 3/...
