Looks like the typical Chinese spindle with no ground. There's a million threads out there on this. You need to attach a ground wire to the blank pin and attach it to the body of your spindle. Did you try running it with the cord out of the cable chain and not touching the machine or the other wires? I would speculate that it's the extension cord touching the other wires. Gary, are the pins on the db25 breakout board male? if so bypass the cable and connect directly to the acorn and see if it works correctly maybe something wrong with the cable??
