Re: Clearpath plus or minus gearbox?
As it stands right now I have only been selling them with systems that I build. Maybe I should rethink that as (hopefully) there will be a bunch of SB'ers needing them. Give me a couple days and I will let you know. To use them you will have to tap the gearbox mount holes for 1/4-20.

Rob...
Nice background image on that PC!!
You should be able to connect one drive and bench test one before you connect them all.
Good luck!

Re: Schematics for Chinese yako
Bobby... I am familiar with those components as they come in the machines I retrofit. You can use a Leadshine schematic, wiring the drives to the DB25 port and connecting your inputs to the Acorn connectors. I suggest that you follow Marty's videos and get the Acorn bench tested with a verified conn...

Re: Clearpath plus or minus gearbox?
Tom... Due to the off center shaft on the Oriental gearbox, you will have to machine custom mounting plates. On the nema34 versions the gearbox will cover 2 of the existing mounting holes. I add one on my adapter plates, customer has to drill and tap a 1/4-20 hole in the sideplate. You will also nee...

Re: Clearpath plus or minus gearbox?
I am retrofitting a 2006 Shopbot Buddy machine with Clearpath motors and an acorn board. The machine currently has 326 OZ motors driving a 3.6 to 1 planetary gear box. I can get a Clearpath servo that has more torque and better resolution than the current stepper WITH the planetary drive attached. ...

Re: question on steppers and closed loop steppers
Apparently the drives are doing much more than just monitoring the position. Actually not. Just like the controller, closed loop stepper drives simply compare the commanded number of steps given, apply a multiplier that would relate to a number of encoder counts, and based on parameters set in the ...

Re: Random motion control
Johnny... If the tool is veering off the desired path is it losing position or does it come back to the desired path? And, am I correct in hearing that this shows up in the graphing? It would be difficult to believe that if it shows up on the graphing screen that it is anywhere but in the code produ...

Re: Clearpath Estop/Enable Circuit
Daniel... You are correct, the ClearPath ENA will enable the motor, but will not reset a fault, you must power cycle for that. Some Teknic products do, some don't. And I agree, the ENA outputs don't work as I would have guess before testing. If you wish to have control over the enable circuit, use a...
