Re: OAK 4x8 Router Build with ATC

I recommend using 24VDC from the Oak's RQ-65D power supply for the axis interface supply on H2, and also for PLC input circuits. Use your separate supply for contactor coils, solenoid coils, servo brake coils, etc.. DONE! Will do. Thank you! If you’d care to share why, I’d love to learn. I’m guessi...

OAK 4x8 Router Build with ATC

Good day All. After a few months of combing through the forum, learning and asking newbie questions, I've finally gotten my Oak board and I want to document the process for those that come after me, AND have all the appropriate info in one place so Marty doesn't get cranky and yell at me. :) The Pla...

Re: Probing, limit switches and more newbie questions...

Again, thank you gents! I’m slowly starting absorb all this info. Swissi, I’d sure love to make both my NC TP and TT work. I clearly need to do some more educational on my end. I have a feeling I’ll be able to work towards a solution and then ask for more help here. I’ve been slammed with crap so I ...

Thank you Gents! I’ll shoot an email over to swissi later. This is all such great info, and I’m slowly learning some of the actual coding and hardware differences between acorn and the servo unit architecture. In an attempt at continuing my education, My next question is this: what’s the difference ...

Probing, limit switches and more newbie questions...

Good day all. Got my oak yesterday and I’m about to start a build series, but had a few more questions about general practices. 1. Where do I purchase Swiss’s Probing App? For the life of me, I can’t seem to find that info. It’s probably right in front me. 2. I don’t mean to oversimplify this, but I...

Re: Choosing Position, Torque or Speed Mode

Thank you again CNCSNW. Do you have any suggested reading I can do so that I can begin to understand this process better?

And I'm assuming there is a TB that addresses the PID gains procedure. I'll have a look.

Cheers!

Re: Choosing Position, Torque or Speed Mode

You definitely do not want torque mode. Centroid's CNC11 and CNC12 software is targeted at velocity mode and position mode. This is in contrast to earlier generations, such as CNC7 and CNC10, which did target torque mode. You should wire your interface cables to support both analog velocity mode an...
