Re: Another DYN4 and Acorn Losing Steps Issue
Huh?? The cable length between acorn and DYN4 is about 2 feet. There is no loss of steps between the DYN4 drive and the motor. It is working great, now that I'm on the DB25 step/direction...

Re: DMM ZRI Homing using only two inputs
Carl,
Substitute the inputs you are using and make sure it is moving in the correct direction. My homing file isn't anything special and it has the pieces you would need.

Re: Another DYN4 and Acorn Losing Steps Issue
I effectively did the same thing by using the DMM software to read absolute encoder position. I posted my results. There has been no real dialogue about what I observed.. I’m not losing encoder counts since I changed to the DB25 step/direction. I think you need to up the resolution and speeds to whe...

Re: G code creation.
The M6 line in the g code calls CNC12's m6 file. You can change how M6 works by editing that file.

Re: Acorn VS Tormach
Dan,
Can you get a similarly configured Haas MiniMill for Tormach 1100m pricing? I'll be buying a mill next year and want to spend under 30, and I want a proper tool changer..

Re: DMM ZRI Homing using only two inputs
Carl,
Absolutely. Wire them up and modify the home to switch lines in my example and then back off the switch so the input is ready for the next axis.

Re: DMM ZRI Homing using only two inputs
My cncm.hom file, using the DYN4 encoder ZRI for precision homing on all three axis. I have X, Y and Z switches on inputs 1-3 and ZRI+ paralleled up on 6. I do not have any of these switches configured in the wizard drop downs. I have NC switches configured as NO in the wizard. ; 2019-02-26 Homing f...

Dan,
Can you share how you square the gantry now? This is something I need to sort out, I think.

Re: Another DYN4 and Acorn Losing Steps Issue
A snippet from my dialogue with DMM last week: "We think we have identified the cause. It's most likely the current flow through your board is not enough so we will send new cables with smaller resistors installed to increase the current flow." I opted to not continue to troubleshoot the i...

Re: Another DYN4 and Acorn Losing Steps Issue
I have to wonder and think that it has to do with the cable length. The op has a big router and the drivers are remotely mounted, if my little router with the electronics mounted to the table has 15' long cables his have to be 25-30' long. Maybe it's as simple as undersized wiring or bad solder joi...
