Re: taper cam
Lathe Intercon program files have the extension ".lth". You can see the full path to the source Intercon program file in the comment at the top of the CNC file. If you are trying to turn a straight cylindrical piece of stock into a steeply-tapered cone, you will want to use the Profile cyc...

Re: Matter of interest (general retrofit inquiries)
I was just interested to know if any one had done one. Wasn't asking for help at this stage but thank you for the insight. Put that way, I suppose the comparative lack of replies could have been interpreted as "no, no one here has retrofitted an example of that particular machine". Howeve...

Re: Matter of interest (Mazak VQC 20/50 retrofit)
Well, he did say: TRA31 & 41 axis drives and FRSE spindle drive TRA31 and TRA41 appear to be Mitsubishi servo drives, presumably original from 1986 (the date he gave for the machine). He said they are DC drives. If I had to guess, I would say the motors have analog tachometer feedback to the dri...

Re: No Signal
Inspect the computer motherboard around the CPU chip.
Are any of the capacitors visibly swollen or leaking?
Is the CPU heat sink and fan assembly still firmly clamped over the CPU chip, or is it loose?

Distances and positions on the X axis of a lathe are measured in diameter.
Tool movement is radius (half of the diameter amount).

Re: Disable graphing with a command?
I think all you need to do is bracket your scripts (or at least the problematic parts of the scripts, such as those that change WCS offsets, tool offsets, parameters, static variables, etc.) with an IF/GOTO to skip over when graphing. E.g.: IF [#4201 != 0] THEN GOTO 900 ; ... ; all the stuff you don...

Re: Enhancement to Intercon Mill Facing Cycle
For the situation Tom described (facing down to Z0.0) just enter a small positive value for "Surface Height", and the same value for "Depth". E.g. Surface Height = 0.0100 Depth = 0.0100 That said, I don't see any reason Intercon could not be changed to allow "Depth" to ...

Don't forget to cancel cutter comp when you are done with the path, before you move X/Y anywhere else.
You probably want Comp Off after operation 19 in your example.

What do you mean by "get the spindle to cycle"?
Do you want it to turn, or do you want it to stay put?
