Re: New Oak board old VFD old knee mill
I think its pretty well laid out in the Oak wiring examples. Look in the link below and search Delta. There is only a handful of wires to hook up, maybe eight. Even less if you are not using a motor encoder. I have an Oak and Delta VFD on my machine. I don't remember where my wiring diagram is for i...

Hitachi SJ-P1 P1-00228-L VFD and P1-FB encoder card
I have a Hitachi SJ-P1 P1-00228-L VFD and P1-FB encoder card. Both are in as new condition. Used for a few mins of running. This is quite an advanced VFD, has all the bells and whistles. Can work on permanent magnet motors and induction motors. Can do spindle orientation on induction motors. Wiring ...

CNC12 5.08 Upgrade Issues
Today I upgraded from 4.17 (from memory) to 5.08. I just ran the installer and for the most part, everything just went and worked. I came across two little issues. The first is that the G code display has changed and looks a bit grotty on my screen. Is there any option to change back to the old G co...

Re: Cant turn on Orientation on Delta C2000
So I couldnt help myself and looked in the manual. There does not appear to be a pg01lu encoder card. There are pg01l, pgo1o and PG01U. L is a differential input card, O is an open collector. These work on encoders that have only a A, B and Z signal. The U version, which is what I use is for encoder...

Re: Cant turn on Orientation on Delta C2000
Ok guys I’m setting up a Fanuc Spindle with a Delta C2000 drive with Acorn. I ordered a EMC-PG01L now what I’m seeing from you guys that this card is for induction motors only. I see there is a EMC-PG01LU am I seeing this correct that is the card I would need for my Fanuc Spindle. Is there any more...

Re: CONFIRM ENCODER COMMUNICATION
Good find. Yes you definitely want the drives logic powered all the time. Same as the spindle VFD only cut the main power supply to the drives with estop contactor. I had made some assumptions that all the wiring diagrams would have been drawn like that as it makes no sense to power down the logic s...

Re: Quadrature Error
There is the possibility that there is an issue with the hardware on the Oak. Maybe a dicky power supply or something not happy in the drive interface part of the board. I am not sure how common or likely this is but dont rule it out. Another option would be do do an absolute bare bones bench test s...

Re: Quadrature Error
The * in the PID screen indicates the Z feedback signal to the Oak is active. It should only be active once per revolution for a tiny distance. It is the index pulse from the DMM drive. Most likely if that signal is noisy, the a and b signals will be too. So just to clarify, its earthling the 0v out...
