Re: PP Help on V Carve pro
I'm using Vetric V carve pro to make my drawings. I have be using the router version of acorn 12 to run my plasma table with the anticipation of the plasma system coming out. Can some one help me out with the post processor that I can use with vetric software for my G code files. I can edit my PP n...

Re: Change Tool & re-zero Z axis during a job
You have to be using the correct PP also or edit the one you have for tool changes. I have two PP for my machines, one for single tool jobs and one for multi-tool jobs that include the M6 for tool changes.

Re: Change Tool & re-zero Z axis during a job
Setting Z zero between tool changes is very simple with the proper macro, see the topic Gary linked to. There are a few macros that you can choose from depending on what type of tool touch off you have and if you have one or two, fixed and movable. The macros can be edited to best suit your workflow...

Re: Can HomeAll act as a limit switch prior to homing the machine?
I understand that if I do everything properly in the right sequence, I won't crash the machine. I'm trying to understand if I can set it up to protect it or at least reduce the consequences if I make a mistake. I get that but if you follow the proper procedure and home the machine FIRST as the soft...

Re: Can HomeAll act as a limit switch prior to homing the machine?
After you power up the machine and press the reset button on the VCP the first thing you do is HOME the machine. Why are you jogging it around? And if you are jogging it around you should be aware that until it's HOMED the machine doesn't know where the HOME switches are. Simply press reset and then...

Yup, there are two pitfalls to the auto squaring routine, see page 20 of the manual for all the details.

Re: Auto-squaring possible with separate home switches on each axis?
Thanks for the responses. This is what I suspected, but thought I'd ask. I write software for a living, so I can certainly code a macro, but I also see the value in walking the well-worn path when there's no benefit to doing otherwise. When I was planning the build, I had enough inputs, so I went a...

Re: Auto-squaring possible with separate home switches on each axis?
I retrofit a 6x12 router with auto squaring and paring wired per the manual that states that one of the requirements is to wire the first 3 N/C proximity switches in series to the HomeAll input. I have not tried any other way as I was instructed to follow the manual word by word. It may be possible ...

Re: Quencharc substitute?
Also check if the manufacturer of the contactor (if this is for a contactor) makes their own "snubbers". I have dozens of Siemens contactors pulled from an industrial CNC router and they all have a Siemens RC snubber attached to them.

Re: Ethernet not connecting to acorn all the time
Check and make sure the ethernet cable jack is snug in the ethernet port on the pc. Is there any play or wiggle room when in the ethernet jack?
