Re: Lathe X_ and Z+ not working on VCP
Lathe VCP non-functional X- and Z+ keys. Having read o post related to this topic , I tried my Acorn Lathe conversion VCP and found that mine don’t work! I am running CNC12 lathe version 4.64 with a current Acorn board, with a Centroid Wireless MPG, without any issues. I normally jog for setting up...

Re: Z axis and lathe ATC problem, mystery
I have installed the Centroid Acorn as per the instructions I have got X and Z working with the VCP and wireless jog pendant. The homing switches work and the X and Z home correctly and jog in all directions and are calibrated. I then copy the files from the ATC axis driven lathe folder to the CNCT ...

Re: Z Axis troubles!
I am having the same issue with 2 CL86T drivers. Originally I bench tested them fine, installed on the machine and after a few test moves that worked fine sporadically would get stuck only moving in one direction. If I swap drives Y for X for example the problem follows the drive which leads me to ...

Re: Z axis and lathe ATC problem, mystery
Not that I have any help on your issue. I am in the process of a build and come across things that make me question. In other builds using Mach 3 I had issues with noise occasionally and they were hard to trace if I ever solved them. On your Din rail in image 5, there is a yel/grn block. This type ...

Re: Z Axis troubles!
Hi Marty, I have the same problem with my Z Axis on my lathe. I thought that it was a wiring fault but i re-wired the step and direction connections and then put hot glue on the wires and driver plugs to stabalise them and stop the wires from bending and breaking. I did the same to the encoder wire...

Re: Z Axis troubles!
Also, there is no reason to be using hot glue on anything. All control wiring should be stranded wire and not solid wire. Post a picture of your control cabinet if you don't mind. Marty All the wiring is multi stranded for flexibility. The bootlace ferrules that i am using have space around the wir...
