Re: CNC12 Router v4.62 ATC Initialization attempt

It doesn’t do anything. The only response I can get is by pressing ‘2’ to complete the tasks, which are already completed.

CNC12 Router v4.62 ATC Initialization attempt- Resolved

I've been working on my ATC Rack with tool forks for my router and have followed the instructions included in the ATC Mill Router Rack Folder for installation. The one change I have made is utilizing Output #6 to unclamp the tool. I have tried 3 separate mfunc6.mac macros, and have the same error in...

Re: New Build: SYIL X4 CNC Mill, Clearpath SDSK, C86ACCP & Centroid Acorn

As far as how many power supplies you need for your machine, most systems only need one power supply. Hope this helps, Tom T. I have an Avid CNC with 4 Nema 34 SDSK's with one Teknic IPC5 power supply and have not had any issues with not having enough power. I started out with the CNC4PC C86ACCP bo...

Re: Is an oscilloscope necessary?

Has anyone had experience with one of the PC USB oscilloscopes? Would a 20MHz 2 channel be adequate for troubleshooting the acorn/drive circuits?

Re: ShopBot Acorn ATC retrofit

Do you have an Avid machine? I've been seeing a lot of those dual pipe dust shoes around on those lately. Is the dual pipe better? My guess is that with that setup you're going to have to have the tools spaced out a lot... Yes, I have an Avid Machine - not the reason I went with dual hoses, but wen...

Re: ShopBot Acorn ATC retrofit

I have the CNC Depot S30C and a 10 position rack set up on linear rails with pneumatic actuators at the far end of the table on Y Axis so the rack retracts beneath the gantry so I can maximize my work area without losing space for the ATC Rack. I was able to measure the tool fork locations using Swi...

Re: Weird Artifacts When 3D Carving

By any chance did you have smoothing set up other than the basic settings from Centroid on the Acorn- such as @sword's settings? I had to re-configure the smoothing settings in the Acorn after upgrading to 4.62. Some of the artifacts show up when I preview the tool path in Aspire until near the end ...

Re: Weird Artifacts When 3D Carving

Have you run this job before without issues?

It would help if you could post the Aspire file. To me it looks like the step over of the bit is too high and maybe you had a direction change in the offset clearing field.

Looks great. Would you mind sharing your updated macro and latest report?

Working on my ATC rack this weekend and hope to get it working as well as yours.

Re: Acorn + Clearpath success stories?

Taylor, For X & Y axis I ordered SDSK-3421S-ELN . For X & Y axis you will want the ELN or a gear reduction, the Avid drive is just a little over 1:1 ratio. Due to my space limitations on the sides of the machine for access I went with the ELN motors to save space. For Z axis I ordered the la...
