Re: acorn to ahha!
Hi Ron, if you want better help please post a link to the manual for your drives. With out a manual we really can't answer your question. I personally have never heard of that driver so a manual would be super helpful. If the driver accepts step and direction signals it should be easy to hook up.

Re: Acorn Auto Measure Macro
My bad, he asked about the function used on "the tool offset screen" not the VCP. That's a screen I don't even use, sorry.

Re: Acorn Auto Measure Macro
If you select the "single block" mode and then run the macro again it'll show you in the first line the macro number it's running. Then just escape out or cycle cancel. Mine is custom so I don't know the macro number off the top of my head.

Re: Closed loop stepper
Yes, those will work with Acorn. It's a standard close loop stepper. Those will wire to the DB25 so you'll also need to order a DB25 breakout board from Amazon as well. Like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073RG3GG6/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B073R...

Re: Control Panel Circuit Protection
That's exactly how I do it. Ground the cabinet at its ground lug with the incoming ground from my 4 conductor main power wire and then run a jumper over to a copper ground bus bar where I ground all my components to. I run a 4 conductor, 220v line in from my power panel so I an have 220 for the mach...

Re: Tool changes for resetting Z every time
You can simply add a fixed tool touch off device, either mechanical or electronic, and CNC12 will automatically measure each tool for you and go back to cutting. You can manually set Z0 and face the material. After that you can reset Z0 with tool 1 in the spindle and start the job. When it comes tim...

Re: Control Panel Circuit Protection
Hi Nick, you can also turn the power supplies on their side, vertically, and save space. Just be mindful about cooling. Not to close and the fan toward the bottom, should stay cool and save space. You can go either way with the power supplies, one or 3, you just have to make sure you have enough cur...

Re: SSD for Acorn Six and CNC12
It doesn't matter what brand it is as long as it's an SSD, they are WAYYYY faster than the old school HDD. You can even use the old school HDD it's just not recommended.

Re: Fusing of Control Panel
The cabinet is already tight with all your components so you'll probably need to move some things around to be able to add in some DIN rail circuit breakers. You'll want a circuit breaker on each of the 5 components you mentioned. All 4 power supplies and the VFD. You topic title says "fusing&q...

Re: Max pulse rate question
Do yourself a HUGE favor and don't even waste your money on more open loop stepper drives. Buy decent closed loop steppers or better yet the Clearpath servos as you mentioned. Far superior to ANY stepper setup. It's best to build the system right the first time instead of wasting more money later wi...
