Re: Encoder Basics
Anybody have clear written instructions on installing encoder to SEM servo motor. Any warning out there on what I should not do or be careful of ? I have a 1991 Bridgeport V2XT. I've seen the tutorial, but I am sure a pic means one thing to one person and something else to another. http://www.centr...

Re: KBCC-R speed controller
I see you are using the KBSI-240D, kind of complicates things a little bit because you have two separate devices to setup. The schematic in the manual is pretty helpful. https://www.kbelectronics.com/manuals/kbsi_240d_manual.pdf You are using Voltage Input Signal follow those instructions Output see...

Re: Recommendations for lathe home/limit switches?
Old thread, but was curious if anyone was using this homing switch? https://www.automationdirect.com/adc/Shopping/Catalog/Sensors_-z-_Encoders/Limit_Switches/Precision_Limit_Switches/Precision_Touch_(5_micron_repeat_accuracy)/CSK087B-L The Emco lathe I am converting has a small roller limit switch ...

Re: Signal conditioner/isolator
If its brushless, no dice on the KB Controllers, they are for DC Brush motors.
Good luck with it.

Re: Acorn / Leadshine "9031 DRIVE FAULT"
Followed your procedure: - Power to motors only (Input and encoder plugs pulled, Acorn output disconnected) motors draw hold current :D for the first time! - Connected motor encoder - no hold current went through manuals again, the only item that out of spec' ; +5VDC was 5.65V wired a 2amp rectifie...

Re: Acorn / Leadshine "9031 DRIVE FAULT"
You did see this video right? https://youtu.be/pVwFXbmSLJQ Start with the basics, check to see if you have motor lock with ONLY motor power as I showed previously Then connect +5VDC to PULSE+ and DIR+, then Pulse - to ST1 on Acorn and DIR- on Acorn DIR1 Try and turn the motor. DO NOT CONNECT ALM OR ...

Re: Signal conditioner/isolator
I have a Consew CSM1000 motor and controller. It takes a 0-5v signal, but is really only usable from 1.7v to 4.8v. Sorry, must've misunderstood what you're wanting to do. No, I think you have it right, just opposite side of the box as I'm seeing it. The Acorn outputs 0-10v, see no problem with this...

Re: KBCC-R speed controller
I’m finally going to attempt to wire up a KBCC-R speed controller and an isolator board to my lathe. Most of what’s in the manual makes sense but I am not clear on the P1, P2, and P3 connections. These normally would be wired into a 5k pot. But, since I’ll be sending 0-10v in to the speed controlle...
