You are however restricted from running both Router and Mill on the same PC with the new beta 4.59 software. I assume the same restriction will remain when production version 4.6 is released.

Sorry, it's not clear, but did you power cycle your Acorn board? If you just plugged in the same or a different encoder cable with the board powered up, I would expect errors.

I'd like to know why you are replacing them? Proximity sensors are known to be very accurate. There are different types though: Capacitance, Inductive, and Magnetic among others and they work best in different applications. How are you mounting them?
