Re: Using a probe as a reference tool

Glad I asked - I didn't fully understand the meaning of "fixed Z reference. Maybe the term floating Z reference should establish the differences between knee mill and bed mill to avoid confusion. The detailed procedure above is what I do with the current reference tool, reestablishing the offs...

Re: Using a probe as a reference tool

My post is to clarify the required changes when going from using a master tool to probe - I am using Swissi's probe App. I currently use T1 as my reference tool - it's a 4" 3/8 rod in a CAT40 holder. Knowing that my touch off tool is 1.451" at contact, I would change Parameter 3 to 6, set...

Re: ProbeApp V3: The Ultimate Probe Software for CNC12

the problem of touching is solved. What's annoying is that I have to start the ProbeApp from the mdi. I added the M58 button to the virtual jog panel. But I can't get any further because oak plc is structured differently than acorn plc. My biggest problem is the probe detect and tt detect query, wh...

Re: ProbeApp V3: The Ultimate Probe Software for CNC12

Just for the record, the only changes the ProbeApp does to CNC12 is replacing the image of the M58 Button in the current VCP configuration with the ProbeApp image and replace the M58 macro mfunc58.mac with a modified macro that's being used to integrate the ProbeApp with CNC12. If the current VCP co...

Re: Height Offset Problem

Thanks... that helps. But why is this happening. Why would this change after I ran simple gcode? Look at the code you posted: N30 T4 M6 N35 S3000 M3 N40 G54 N50 G0 X2.19 Y-0.6574 N55 G43 Z0.4 H4 On line N30 Tool T4 is loaded and on line N55 the Tool Height Offset H4 that is associated with T4 is ac...

Re: ProbeApp V3: The Ultimate Probe Software for CNC12

No worries, all is well with -swissi :D As Muzzer indicated, this was just an Email Spam Filter problem and I have noticed that such issues have increased lately. Also my email responses sometimes end up in the recipients spam folder. I always respond within 24 hours to email inquiries so if you don...

Re: MANUAL ATC FOR 5 AXIS ROUTER -HELP

I believe I did. we had one email thread going. And when I set it all up I get that warning message about make sure offsets are all 0. I have shown this message above. Now if its ok to ignore that then I guess I'm ok. Here is my email rmillerauto@yahoo.com if i missed something. I emailed you the i...

Re: MANUAL ATC FOR 5 AXIS ROUTER -HELP

UPDATE !!! The SWISSI app is also a no go. He did suggest that if I use fixed tooling I just use the standard cnc12 offset method. But I will keep the probeapp for other reasons because Its a cool app add-on that works well for a normal 3 axis setup (I have a 5 axis Head'head) however again probeap...

Re: Probe App “tool check”

Sorry for the delay. Here is my report. The report file alone does not give me enough information to trouble shoot your problem. This is what I need in addition: A copy of the file c:\cncm\probing\ProbeApp.cfg A step by step description how you are setting WCS Z0 with the ProbeApp (which Probing Cy...

Re: Probe App “tool check”

If I do not run the probe app to set my Z height for the tool, the tool check works fine. If I do use the Probe APP it retracts the Z to the top and then when I hit "cycle start" it only goes down part way and starts cutting ABOVE the Z height set by the probe app. If I DO NOT use the pro...
