Let me ask you, are the original motors and drives on the machine? Please take pictures of them and inside the control cabinet if you have it. Let's see what you have to work with before you tear anything out first.

Re: First Project | proLIGHT 1000 | Acorn Conversion
Nice first project!
Have you watched any of my Acorn videos on YouTube? They might help a little. martyscncgarage
The hardest part for some one new is choosing motors and drives.
Acorn and CNC12 are a nearly a slam dunk for me.
We're here for you as you get started.

Re: Acorn wireless MPG
I got the MPG running and it was great, for a while, then it stopped working. The MPG is getting updates on DRO position from Acorn, but no commands are received by the Acorn. The MPG shows the transmit symbol whenever any button on it is pressed. Could the transmitter in the MPG be bad? Exactly wh...

Re: Can't Access The Acorn Wizard (Solved)
Marty, I setup the Firewall so it would allow the cncm folder through (by selecting the folder I assumed, incorrectly, it would allow all applications in the folder through). The instructions for this were in one of the videos explaining how to configure Windows 10 for the Acorn board and CNC12. Un...

Re: Can't Access The Acorn Wizard (Solved)
CJ, There are TWO executable files, one is CNCM.EXE, the other is CNCWIZARD.EXE Sounds like you allowed one through Windows Firewall and not the other. You can manually allow these through the firewall. Here is a fair explanation on how to do it manually: https://grok.lsu.edu/article.aspx?articleid=...

Re: Can't Access The Acorn Wizard
Marty, Yes to each of your questions. The last time I accessed the Wizard successfully was when I changed the steps/rev values a couple of weeks ago. Just prior to that I had upgraded to ver 4.12 of CNC12 and had repopulated the Wizard with the appropriate values/parameters. At this point CNC12, th...

Re: Can't Access The Acorn Wizard
Regenerating the tool offset table got rid of the 907 error. Still unable to access the Wizard. I was able to run the rest of the operations for the part successfully. CJ When you uninstalled CNC12, did you use Windows Control Panel, Add/Remove software feature? Very strange, I've never had that ha...

Re: Gantry plasma table with Acorn
Yes, I'm in the US. I chose this NUC because it's fanless and sealed. My plasma environment has lots of humidity and very fine steel dust. Kills a fan cooled computer in about a year. I'm trying to get past the annual computer buy. USB cables are also a problem. That's why I am happy the acorn boar...
