Re: Milling a hole (conversational) and hole creeps

Bruno Sounds like you have Wabeco's F1410-C mill with ball screws similar to my F1210-C but with lead screws. If so, your steppers are Sanyo Denki SanMotion 103H8221-6241 which should not be powered above 40vdc - I am using 36vdc through Gecko 203V drives which achieves a very satisfactory performan...

Re: Additional conversational tutorials?

Fair comment Gary but my fellow Brit, Chaz, is right - I believe only Myanmar, the USA, and Liberia are currently non-metric. That said, the Manuals linked to by Marty have Intercon sections approx 100 pages with Tutorials in INCHES and don't mention plastic so what is the problem with Centroid's Ma...

Re: Spindle hour meter

I'm also looking for a similar feature for general machine maintenance but not spindle activation as this excludes probing. I already have an hour meter and would connect it via the 8 way relay but need an appropriate output constant for the trigger.

Any further thoughts?

Cabinet Construction

Currently using a steel cabinet (IT Patch Cab) with components laid out horizontally - Mains power transformers on top shelf and low voltage components below with all control wiring fully shielded. Zero interference problems Now need to add a 4th axis requiring a larger cabinet and have a new Polyes...

Re: Is it possible to pause a job and then resume on the Acorn?

There are 3 buttons to achieve this.

Both Feed hold and Toolcheck will immediately pause the Job, the latter returning your Z axis to the tool change position (usually home). Restart Job using Cycle Start.

You can also resume after Power off / hitting Cancel - See Mill manual sections 6.3 and 6.4

Re: Sticky Jog Buttons

FWIW, I'm using a Dell 24 Touch Monitor (P2418HT) on my Wabeco mill and just tried rolling my finger while raising the Z axis (Z+ direction) . I had to seriously exaggerate the gesture several times but eventually experienced continuous movement - Movement stopped immediately after a quick subsequen...
