Re: Lathe spindle / AC Servo wiring for C-Axis and normal turning
Awesome, thanks for confirming my assumptions. I seem to recall Uwe had posted some examples of macros for switching from Spindle to C Axis mode, so I'll look for those as well.

Lathe spindle / AC Servo wiring for C-Axis and normal turning
Hi, looking for some advice on how to wire an AC Servo to drive my lathe spindle. I am in the process of converting a Colchester Triumph 2000 lathe to Centroid CND control. I had originally thought of using a VFD and the original motor, but my VFD blew out, and I happened to come across a 3.8KW AC S...

Re: Can Clearpath SDSK & Hybrid Steppers be connected to C86ACCP ?
I used this board on an Acorn (not six) for a large router. One of the pains now is that there is a broken wire in one of the 4 motor signal cables, causing the HLFB signal back from one of the Clearpath motors to occasionally glitch. The motors receive signal fine, but the HLFB return line glitches...

Ah, you're right. Good point, and that makes much more sense now! Happy to see that it was my fault
Thanks

Re: The Centroid CNC PC Tuner v1.0 has been released.
The PC Tuner correctly identifies my Screen Resolution at 1920x1080. Which is the recommended screen resolution, according to this: https://www.centroidcnc.com/cnc_pc_performance_requirements.html 6.) When using Centroid's Virtual Control Panel (VCP) a 1920x1080 LCD monitor. 1920x1080 (HD) is prefer...

Re: New Build, PM2700 lathe with Acorn, Videos and Photos <upgraded to AC servos>
Hi Uwe, I am converting a Colchester Triumph 2500 lathe using the AcornSix, and happened to have a 3.8 KW AC Servo that I would love to try out for a spindle motor, driving the spindle direct with a 40mm wide belt. I understand I should use an input on the AC Servo to switch between speed control an...

Re: Homing & Limit Switch UNSOLVED MYSTERY!
I have rec'd several suggestions that this means that the software travel limits are setup incorrectly. Section 7.5 of the manual describes the software travel limits as preventing the machine from crashing into a hard stop or LIMIT SWITCH, not a homing switch. This is perhaps not what's causing yo...

Re: Random clearpath drive faults while operating
One thing to keep in mind when you let Acorn soft enable the drives is the risk of an axis moving while unpowered. As Gary suggested, if you have a gantry that is auto-squared it could slide back out of square when the drives disable. I found that Acorn was disabling and enabling the drives far too ...
