Re: Ether1616 Shorts Powersupply
From your thermal video, you can see heat hit the Transient Voltage Suppression diode (TVS1) next to the diode (D1) A few measurements with a multimeter would pinpoint the fault. the Cap, Diode, or drop resister could be shorted. Ether way its a RMA.

Re: Ether1616 Shorts Powersupply
Can you get a better shot of D1 In pic 3 it almost looks like the direction indicator strip is toward the input (backwards).

Re: Closed Loop Stepper Encoder Wiring
For the record my question was about cabling vs wires from connector to the driver for both the encoder and power. The existing ones (power) are temporary , I've already removed the encoder wires. I've seen lots of these done as I have the power wires here but that does not mean its the best way. S...

Re: Closed Loop Stepper Encoder Wiring
If the cabinet is permanently affixed to the machine then direct pass threw is reasonable and preferred. But the Acorn comes with a DB25 G540 compatible plug. which, in turn, uses DB9's, etc. So a lot of smaller DIY build not based on a retrofit may have a separate control box where connectors make ...

Re: Fusion360 Machine List for Centroid/Acorn
The Machine type is for defining the spec of the machine such as table size, max speed, spindle rpm range. The Centroid Acorn is made to retrofit or custom builds, so there will not be a reference in most cases. unless you retrofitted a known machine like a Fadal etc. The Machine selection is not re...

Re: Does Centroid have S curves or jerk control in motion planning?
What were your sample rate and bit resolution? I found there is a Centroid command 228 to turn it on and off it would be interesting to see both profiles. it will be a few days before mine shows up and I can throw an accelerometer on one and plot
