I'm guessing my X axis needs to be flipped so positive is facing away from the tool?

... if the machine moves 35mm the current position says it moves 70mm? If you are referring to the X axis, then that is correct as the X-Axis is set to diameter mode (the circle and line next to the X in the DRO). 35mm off the radius is 70mm off the diameter.
