I changed my steps/rev to 4000, and noticed a strange resonance in my Y axis when jogging at certain speeds with the MPG. Slower moves will also accelerate slower. I have to think about why that's a benefit.

I guess that is different to most other hobby CNC controllers which use units/s^2.

I have not been able to find any documentation on the acceleration setting. Usually acceleration has units of m/s^2 or ft/s^2. In Acorn the unit is in Seconds, so I am guessing that's the time to accelerate to full speed? (Intuitive) Internally there must be a conversion to acceleration m/s^2. If we ...

I am not sure I understand the question.

For the climb cuts the long axis is just like the drawing. With a conventional cut the result is mirrored.

The couplers are made in China, as are most of the drive train parts. They are good quality 40mm diameter. They clamp tight and there is no play. Measured backlash is only 0.0005".

The closed loop steppers are coupled to the 2010 ball screws 1:1 with oldham style couplers.
