Re: Laser Cutting on a mill

1: Have you had a chance to try that on anodized aluminum?

2: Anyone know if the AllinOne / CNC 12 version can handle this?

Windows update

I did all the windows things to shut off updates when we switched to win 10. Worked fine for a long time. This past year windows is again doing updates and it is annoying as all get out. I checked all the usual places and can't see why it is being allowed to update. Has MS gotten sneaky and forcing ...

Re: Operator Error - What went wrong

What Tom said. Rough stock is all over the place.
Cutter comp. I found fewer problems using 360 if I let 360 handle CC in program instead of programming in 360 and compensation in Centroid..

Re: Fusion 360 cam

What Tom said. I have read the literature but have not tried the 360 probing. In process probing is likely useful for mass production with a tool changer and robots loading though I still don't grasp the concept. As I have neither I don't worry about it. I use the centroid or swissi probe processes ...

Uprading muffin fan filters

Re: Error of the Day

Received the correct encoder and installed. All is well again. Funny thing is that the machine rpms sounds smoother for whatever reason.
Now I can go back and struggle with a spindle fault that I think might be brake related. That's another thread when I get to it.

Re: Error of the Day

This is an older B6FC. BT40 machine. It's been a trip getting it updated and me along with it. ;) But for it's limitation in rpm it does fine work when I get it right on my end. Unless things have changed I think Centroid machines use Atrump as the base machine. FWIW If you find you need a guy, CNCS...

Re: Error of the Day

OK, Chelsea at Centroid got it straightened out. I was sent the wrong encoder based on the shaft size problem. They all look alike ya know.
