Re: Sorry no problems....

I am making a series of knife handles from high compressed wood.

Ready to use after 4-axis milling, only the butt need to be cut off.

Needs 40 min with 6000rpm, would be faster with a high speed spindle.

Sorry no problems....

my cheap little mill runs without problems, Acorn and 4.99 beta software. 16h shift with 6000rpm, only short stops for changing work-pieces and still running perfectly Will not get higher than 45°C, original only build for 2250 rpm Can not complain about reliability with Acorn running short vector 4...

Re: Laser Cutting on a mill

Is this a 40 watt version? I do not see that one available. Also I am looking to get clean cuts in .125" plexi. Have you tried that yet. Just curious. Thank you Bill No only cheap 10W, Lasertree have max 30W 6 diode laser modules. Good addon is a laser honeycomb. .125" plexi works clean w...

Clearpath has a good write up on the subject of clamping Here

KP3 ruelz, Probe compare

I have different 3D probes in use and want to share my experience with them. China V5 probe TopCom probe with Zeiss Tip (original is only a piercing ball with >0,015 out of round) VersBy wireless Probe Centroid KP3 (in my case with Alpha wireless module) China is the cheapest, working ok. Only radia...

anodized aluminum is no problem, with out anodizing you need laser spray...

Any Centroid CNC with PWM output can control a laser

Re: MPG motion not quite the same as with the release

Checked it out, on my mill I do not notice a difference between 4.82 / 499R6-R7 how the WMPG performs.

For my taste Quick Response fits best.

Re: MPG motion not quite the same as with the release

As the title states, I'm noticing that MPG motion is not as smooth with beta6. I usually set it for balanced response, but notice it with all settings. For lack of better description, is seems a bit pulsy or jerky. Most noticeable in 10x. Going back to the release appears to be better. It's a CWP-4...

Acorn6 in a too small enclosure :D

Nice models if you are planning the enclosure in 3D
