Re: New Build Steel Frame Router

Smoothing for precision milling needs a higher resolution to work best. I doubt you lose speed or torque needed with 4000 Steps.

My steppers could easy turn 3000rpm with this, you only need 1500 rpm for your rapids.

Did you cost nothing but 30min time to try it out ;)

sounds good. the tool library in cnc12 is going to get a make over in v5.2 for mill and router 1st stage of this make over will be in v5.18 which will be a router only release . That is not fair, I have no router yet 🤣 Tool Lib is for me less a problem than not having second independent spindle wit...

Re: New Build Steel Frame Router

I have not build a router yet, but should the slaved axis not have the same settings like the main axis? Good way to get rid of backlash with cheap C7 screws is to use 2 nuts, one floating and spring loaded. Are the bearings in the fixed side at the servo angular and with proper preload? 2000 steps ...

Re: best Threading strategy

You can type in any Name before saving.

But for adding lots of threads xml editing is way faster with excel

yes on both. - set tool # should have been on the mill VCP as well. fyi..the new tool library i am working on also has it as a function key as well so you don't have to have it on the VCP if you don't want to. - and good idea on the stress test, we will do that! Do you know new CHIPS from swissi ? ...

Re: Wizard turns/deg limited to 7 characters?

I am using a Vertex HV6 with a stepper. That can be adjusted to almost zero backlash.

You could use a harmonic drive 50:1 or 100:1 and 40/36 pulleys.

Re: best Threading strategy

I forgot that you also can save single new threads.

Load a similar one, and edit the parameters and save.

Re: Acorn won't run g code/mdi < lathe G98/G99?>

I suggest to install current 5.1 software with the updates for a better Network connection on some hardware.

How can i run the Finish Pass a second time? Paste and copy?
jep in NP++, but should go also with copy and insert in Intercon {never tried it)

Simply because I am often faster with plain g-code.
