Re: Video Walkthrough of How I Use the Acorn
This chart was supplied with the probe I guess? I have used some types of probes in the <200€ range and made probemaps with them. Non was as good as a KP3, but maybe ok for hobby. But for me, the most annoying thing was that none of the cheap probes stayed in center for a longer time and some of the...

Easy way to solve this is a timer relay in the servo enable wire active at power on.

The AIKRON Model:AKM1 Has been Tested at Centroid. The Signal Type Needs to be the 5v RS422 https://www.aikrondro.com/product/aikron-akm-series-linear-encoders/ I've attached a snip of the DB9 connector of the Aikron and the Changes needed to match the Centroid DB9 Encoder Port. Aikron Scale Wiring...

Re: nc files
default paths are defined in the pathl.ini file, but you can navigate to any folder.
I use /ncfiles as working directory, and store files from done projects in other folders for reuse later.

Re: CNC12 Software cycle start disabled
I understand both ways of thinking. For me as user no big deal, just a 50:50 chance to get it right on the first try
Not more than a minute to try a second chance...

Re: Threading with Acorn lathe Pro
This is clearly explained in the manual and since most threads are symmetrical, easy for the user to work with. Even more advanced is optithreading and incremental infeed. https://www.sandvik.coromant.com/en-us/knowledge/threading/thread-turning/how-to-choose-infeed-method-in-thread-turning-operatio...

Re: New Build Steel Frame Router
Smoothing for precision milling needs a higher resolution to work best. I doubt you lose speed or torque needed with 4000 Steps.
My steppers could easy turn 3000rpm with this, you only need 1500 rpm for your rapids.
Did you cost nothing but 30min time to try it out

Re: CNC12 v5.1 RC7 (which is build #17806) went up last night with these fixes and improvements
sounds good. the tool library in cnc12 is going to get a make over in v5.2 for mill and router 1st stage of this make over will be in v5.18 which will be a router only release . That is not fair, I have no router yet 🤣 Tool Lib is for me less a problem than not having second independent spindle wit...
