Connected now.
What I found out ist that the 5m extension is only working with max. 0.5m primary USB cable.
Makes sense, because by standard USB2.0 is limited to 5m.
Will the first Opcon work after update also?

Re: full/half duplex
the latest CNC12 v5.1 has Intel NIC related ethernet software improvements that should eliminate having to go to half duplex with Intel NIC's that have this issue. from the release notes. 56. Improved Ethernet Communications from the PC to the BBG on Acorn which should eliminate having to go to the...

I have 90:1 on my mill with 4000 Steps, works very well.
You can fit a harmonic drive on the stepper for high reduction without backlash.

Do not use Odd Numbers as a result for reduction rates, this will end up in rounding errors.
Rotary Axes are working in degrees, so take care that the step resolution can drive to 0.01 or 0.001 degree whatever precision you want to achieve.

Re: AC Servo suggestions?
Acorn spindle is 0-10V Acorn 6 -10/+10V or -5 / +5V
So with Acorn you need one Output to change direction, with Acorn 6 not.
But in both cases, you need a servo with speed mode and analogue input. There are lots of on the market with these features.

Beautiful work as usual, Uwe. Soldering all the resistors is the price to pay for the versatility of those open collector outputs. I do agree on how nice it is to work with cartridge style soldering irons. I recently got one for home and it is really nice how quickly it reaches temperature. That wa...

Re: AcornSix - Zri Homing with linear scales
In this case it looks like Acorn6 is handling the encoder input if a scale is setup for an axis differently opposed to a rotary encoder for the spindle.
It would be nice if someone from Centroid could check this out.

Re: AcornSix - Zri Homing with linear scales
Nice workaround, but the problem that #25102 is always -1 is not solved.
On my lathe #25108 is working fine with the Index from the spindle encoder.
Since you also have a working encoder now, can you test if #25108 is set to a value other than -1 after one turn of the spindle?
