Re: Pro vs Ultimate, MPG questions...

Yes the only difference. Sender is the same, receiver is not, and from my experience they work much better than the cheap stuff on Linux or Mach. My POV is they make money with selling things, but we as customers on the other side are pleased with free updates in short time and have not to go on wit...

Re: CNC lathe Dealing with long chips

jep 7075 is easy to cut, but if it is possible from spindle speed, I use 200m/min or faster. No problem to write a chip breaking function with parameters for roughing, but for finish cut it looks better in one go with one long swarf. The trick here ist to make it flow away from the part so it will n...

Too expensive for hobby, since you also need a shrinkstation.

But there are cheap DIY ways, like shrinking a ring on the tools, or use an internal stop in the spindle...

Re: Pro vs Ultimate, MPG questions...

Acorn works only with Centroid WMPG, and this one is much better than the cheap stuff. It runs with special firmware and receiver for a fast and reliable connection.

PRO ist limited to 2500 points digitizing, Ultimate not.

Re: Tool Change Macro Help

I would go another way, since I am too lazy to measure each tool change 🤣

Use ER16 shrink fit collets, perfect same tool length after a change

Re: CNC lathe Dealing with long chips

hi, i am really new to intercon and i am wondering how can i use pecking for outer contour ? Thanks Michael No function other than cut off cycle for this in Intercon. For OD turning, hand code, or write a function with a sub program. The easiest way is to use AW2007 or AW2011 instead of 6082  ...

Re: CNC lathe Dealing with long chips

Sometimes pecking is the best solution for chip control, on large lathes also.

Re: C Axis Lathe Situation

From C-100 to C-200 is one direction, from C-200 to C-100 the other direction

The direction is determined by increasing or decreasing the C-axis value, no matter if the code starts at C0 or C-75

Gary also builds to order and he has lots of experience with shopbot.

For a perfect running system with minimum downtime maybe the best choice.
