Made first carve with centroid...

After having to learn more about wiring my old high inductance motors than I realized...and amazing help from people here (Gary, Marty and several others), I brought the old shopbot back to life better than ever. I was asked to make a sign for a boy coming into the world any day. I went with the pro...

Re: done something wrong, as g-203v onboard mini fuses keep frying.

Once I hooked them in, it’s running great. I got my Xbox controller running the axis and it’s going well, just need to figure out “z”..the keyboard isn’t controlling it now either and it does not in the virtual control panel. but I’ll figure it out, but motors are running well and sound ok too. It’s...

Re: done something wrong, as g-203v onboard mini fuses keep frying.

I’m sure this of my own doing….I’m about 60% capable and 40% good guess…sometimes.lol.I corrected the motor to red/white and green/black for windings. I should note…the other drivers follow the same scheme but the two “X” motors are wired together at the db25…and share the same + and - for the #1 an...

Re: done something wrong, as g-203v onboard mini fuses keep frying.

I should also point out I have the motors x’s and y set to 20 teeth gears at: .9167 overall turns ratio And the z with 25 teeth gears set to:1.1459 overall turns ratio.

Re: done something wrong, as g-203v onboard mini fuses keep frying.

I only included the fuse number in case it helps others...they're super easy to replace and only like 1$.

done something wrong, as g-203v onboard mini fuses keep frying.

I had success hooking up motors individually on bench, but didn't run them prolonged. now that they are hooked up on machine, in a couple instances, Ive found my Gecko 203v-drives blacked out on different axis (green power light off). I found they use a small mini fuse.. mouser # 576-9251005 which i...

Re: zero plate on old shopbot, wiring question...

That did it! With +24v connected, and making sure (machine) was connected to the ground ⏚…it lit right up! Thank you so much. I started this with very little experience (other than designing parts in Vectric. I’m already a fan of Acorn and look forward to my first cut all set up! Bye bye shopbot he...
