Re: Cylinder combustion chamber softening

Uwe
Just to be clear, I am not looking to profile that chamber shape.
All I am looking to do is the circular cut that you see which is 4.00 inch in diameter that ramps towards the center at a 5* angle.
I did not think this was such a big deal to find a simple program that would do the math and ...

Re: Cylinder combustion chamber softening

Thank you Uwe.
I had a feeling you were going to say that.

My friend did write me a program in Mastercam. He was not feeling well today so he never came to my shop so we could run it.
The only problem with the "1 trick pony" program is I can not change anything on the fly if needed.

Is Fusion 360 ...

Cylinder combustion chamber softening

Good afternoon everyone.
I tried to post this yesterday, but as I was about to hit the button the server was down all into the night time.
So here we go. I made a trunnion plate system for my 4th axis last year.
I have 2 plates. 1 plate has all of the dowel pin locations and bolt threads for ...

Re: 4th axis motor trying to turn before brake is actually released

I had a similar situation when I use the 4th axis.
I wound up inserting a pause in the g code before the a axis move..IE P1.5 which pauses 1-1/2 seconds to let the brake release.
If using intercon, you hit more buttons, gcode then put that P 1.5 in.
You could make it dwell longer, I tried P3, then ...

Re: Milltronics Partner 1E Allin1DC conversion

I left mine wired into the contactor the way milltronics had it setup. When the estop hits it kills power to the servos and power to the z brake.
The brake needs power to unlock, no power should be locked. I am also counterweighted so the brake really just helps overnight creep.
Maybe there is a ...

Re: Milltronics Partner 1E Allin1DC conversion

Converterking, that how mine is connected to the contactor which is wired to the estop relay.
I saw no reason to change it even though the allin1 will do it using the output #9 I believe. Just more wiring to move around for no gain.
The head should have a counterweight on it anyway. The brake just ...

Re: Milltronics Partner 1E Allin1DC conversion

You could have left the factory rectifier circuit alone. My machine has the same 140 volt motors and the circuit puts out about 165 if I remember.
The allin1 will regulate it down. They never see much more than 100v even during rapid moves from what I remember when I checked it.
Remember, as amps go ...

Are you following the installation manual?
You should and not be jumping all over the place.

Re: Milltronics MB24

The cabinet looks like it has not been "molested" by anyone which is a good thing.
I would call milltronics and get a copy of the factory schematic. You can then circle what you are keeping and needs to be removed.
I would not just go in and rip it all out, as you will be putting at least half it ...
