Re: 1/2 mpg pendant key?
Perfect! Not only does that solve my issue, understanding how to communicate between the plc and gcode will undoubtedly be invaluable. Thanks!

1/2 mpg pendant key?
I would like to add a 1/2 key to centroid, so that, when I measure off of a part, I can quickly zero to center. I want to use the aux key on my wireless mpg so that it divides the currently selected axis. I found a forum post (link below) where they used a macro to divide current work position. But ...

Re: PLC program installed where?
Just to clarify "the next startup" means the next time the PLC is powered up, not the next time CNC12 starts. So, if you change the PLC program, then just restart CNC12, it will warn that the PLC program is different and try install it if you press a key. BUT, it doesn't always work corre...

Re: PLC program installed where?
Hex, binary. It's all executable. LOL
Ahh, ok. That makes sense. I guess it loads the software at each startup. That would make sense since the gui and the plc would need to be on the same page. Atleast , I assume they need to be on the same page.
Thanks.

PLC program installed where?
This is more of a curiosity question then a support question so I hope it's ok to post it here. When I install the PLC program, what am I actually doing? I need to modify the PLC program to work on my machine. So I've been taking a crash course in Centroids PLC programing. All pretty simple stuff. E...

Re: 325 limit on home?
Go to the PID screen. Press Emergency Stop. Note the "Abs Pos" value for the Z axis. Turn the motor shaft one revolution. Note the new "Abs Pos" value for the Z axis. What is the difference between the two positions? If you have more than 16384 counts in one revolution of the mo...

Re: 325 limit on home?
Z axis moves toward the switch, trips it, backs off, and clears it. It then, very slowly, continues to back away from the switch. Then the error pops up. Shouldn't it move toward the limit switch in order to find the index? Also, an index pulse is being captured, thanks for the tip martyscncgarage. ...

Re: 325 limit on home?
Is the control hitting the switch, and backing off of continue moving and then stop? IF so, sounds like the control is not finding the index pulse on the encoder. What make and model drives and motors are you using and please post a fresh report? Marty It hits the switch, backs off until it clears,...

Re: 325 limit on home?
I got the new limit switch installed on the Z axis and, it still no worky. :( :( It's still throwing error 457 unable to find home. I have no idea where to look for the issue. Especially since it did home before I started to mess with the spindle and calibration. I don't think I made it very far wit...

Re: 325 limit on home?
If you have space for one, I prefer this style of switch: https://www.automationdirect.com/adc/shopping/catalog/sensors_-z-_encoders/limit_switches/heavy_duty_metal_iec_limit_switches/one-way_lever_with_roller_actuator/abm6e32z11 Specifically, I like the one-way lever with roller. It is mechanicall...
